Descend from misty Marsabit into the sun-baked desert plains toward Ngurunit, a remote village nestled at the base of the jagged Ndoto Mountains. Check into the rustic Catholic Guesthouse for lunch. Spend the afternoon walking seasonal stream beds (luggas) to photograph Samburu and Rendille herders watering their livestock against the soaring mountain backdrop. Capture a desert sunrise before driving through rugged lava fields toward Lake Turkana, the world’s largest permanent desert lake.
