NAIROBI TO NARO MORU & ACCLIMATIZATION WALK

Begin your mountain expedition with a morning pick-up from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport or your hotel in Nairobi by your driver-guide. Travel via shuttle transfer past central Kenya's scenic landscapes to Naro Moru town, arriving in time for lunch. After lunch, review your mountain climbing gear with your professional guide to ensure you are fully prepared for the trek. In the afternoon, enjoy a relaxing nature walk around the base of Mount Kenya to help your body acclimatize. Accommodation: Mountain Lodge / Banker House / Naro Moru Base Lodge

NARO MORU GATE TO METEOROLOGICAL STATION (3,050M)

After breakfast, transfer to the Naro Moru Park Gate (2,600m) to register with Mount Kenya National Park authorities. Meet your mountain support crew—including your certified guide, cook, and porters. Begin your hike along forested trails traversing the northern and southern Naro Moru valleys. Walk through lush montane rainforest, bamboo groves, and giant heather zones. Conclude the day at the Meteorological Station (Met Station Hut - 3,050m), where you will enjoy dinner and an overnight stay in the mountain cabins. MET STATION TO TELEKI VALLEY & MACKINDERS CAMP (4,300M)

Following breakfast, ascend uphill along a forest trail that transitions into high-altitude alpine moorland. Cross the famous "Vertical Bog" section, where terrain difficulty varies depending on recent rainfall. As you ascend, conditions level out as you enter the dramatic Teleki Valley, offering spectacular panoramic views of Batian and Nelion main peaks. Arrive at Mackinders Camp (4,300m) in the late afternoon for dinner, rest, and preparation for your early morning summit attempt. Accommodation: Mackinders Camp / Hut

MACKINDERS CAMP TO POINT LENANA (4,985M) & DESCEND TO MET STATION

Wake up between 2:00 AM and 3:00 AM for light hot drinks before starting your pre-dawn summit push across alpine scree and rocky ridges. Trek for 3 to 4 hours to reach Point Lenana (4,985m), Mount Kenya's third-highest peak, in time to witness a breathtaking East African sunrise. Capture unforgettable photo memories at the peak before descending back to Mackinders Camp for a hearty breakfast (2 hours). Continue your descent down through the Teleki Valley for an additional 4 hours to Met Station for dinner and your final night on the mountain. Accommodation: Meteorological Station Hut (Met Station)

MET STATION TO NARO MORU GATE & RETURN TO NAIROBI

After breakfast, complete your mountain journey by descending 9 km through the rainforest canopy back down to the Naro Moru Park Gate. Check out at the park headquarters, say goodbye to your mountain crew, and board your return vehicle back to Nairobi. Upon arrival in Nairobi in the afternoon, your driver-guide will drop you off at your hotel or directly at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your international flight home.
