Your epic East African expedition kicks off early in the morning with a convenient pickup directly from your Nairobi accommodation. You will be transferred smoothly to our central departure point to meet your fellow international travelers and your expert safari driver-guide. Leaving the city capital behind, your group-joining safari heads west, making a spectacular stopover at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint for panoramic photos of the volcanic landscape, before stopping again in Narok Town for a fresh, early lunch. You will proceed further into the wilderness, arriving at the budget campsite in the late afternoon. After a brief siesta to refresh yourself, you will embark on your very first introductory game drive across the iconic rolling plains of the Masai Mara Game Reserve. Awake to an early morning safari breakfast at the camp before packing your picnic lunches for a thrilling, full-day wildlife tracking adventure. The Masai Mara is globally renowned for its exceptionally dense population of big cats, elephants, and plains game, ensuring a day packed with dramatic wildlife encounters. Your guide will navigate the vehicle through diverse sectors of the reserve, tracking active predators on the hunt. By midday, you will reach the banks of the historic Mara River, the boundary line for the great migration, where you can step out safely to observe giant pods of wallowing hippos and massive Nile crocodiles basking on the riverbeds. After an early breakfast, you will head straight into Lake Nakuru National Park for a morning game drive. You will enjoy an early breakfast at the camp, check out, and embark on a final morning game drive as you cross Amboseli National Park from the Kimana gate through to the Mashenani gate. This transit drive offers your last glimpses of Kenya's famous elephant herds and savannah predators. You will exit the park and drive directly to the Namanga border post for immigration processing. Here, you will bid farewell to your trusted Kenyan safari guide, clear customs, and board a comfortable, shared regional shuttle bus bound for Arusha, Tanzania. You will arrive in Arusha around 2:00 PM and receive a transfer directly to The Charity Hotel. Following breakfast at your Arusha hotel, you will meet your transfer driver to head to the main safari departure zone. Here, you will be introduced to your professional Tanzanian driver-guide and your new international tour companions. You will depart Arusha and drive through stunning Tanzanian countryside, arriving at the main gates of the world-renowned Serengeti National Park in the late afternoon. After completing park registration, you will immediately enjoy an evening game drive en route to your central campsite. The Serengeti is globally celebrated for hosting the massive annual migration of millions of wildebeests and zebras, alongside the highest concentration of big cats in Africa. Your eighth day is fully dedicated to maximizing your wildlife viewing across the endless plains of the Serengeti. After an early breakfast at the campsite, you will check out and load your packed lunches for an intensive, minimum 6-hour game drive. Your guide will traverse both the Central and Southern sectors of the Serengeti National Park, areas incredibly rich in resident lions, leopards, cheetahs, and massive columns of grazing herbivores. You will exit the Serengeti borders by noon, with an optional afternoon stopover at the famous Olduvai Gorge Museum—the cradle of mankind—to explore ancient hominid fossil discoveries. You will enjoy breakfast at your Arusha hotel as your incredible 10-day cross-border safari draws to a close. Depending on your personal onward travel plans, you will board your pre-arranged comfortable shuttle bus for a scenic return road journey across the border back to Nairobi. Alternatively, you can choose to be transferred directly to Arusha Airport or Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) for your scheduled departure flight back home, bringing your ultimate African budget adventure to a successful completion.
